Task Forze V

It doesn’t always have to be ancient technology. These state of the art machines are also fun to work on. Together with a select group of old team members we are restoring the Forze V while in the background you can see the latest car, the Forze VI on the bridge.

Engine inspection finished

Last weekend I continued with a thorough inspection of the engine and car.
I had a little scare because the engine seemed to lock up every 360deg when turned manually. After some head scratching I noticed the block is resting on the oil pan and because of the weight of the block the oil pan is pushed in. Not much, just a few millimetres but apparently that’s enough for something to grind against it. When I lifted the engine not using the oil pan as a jack point the engine went round very smooth, so that’s a relief. I continued disassembling everything to prepare it for cleaning and painting. I’m not going to pull the head off so I’m just removing components like mounting brackets, wiring loom and plumbing to be able to paint the block. I also removed all break system components for revision.
